In Receiving the Lord’s Return, Listening for God’s Voice Is Crucial

· Second Coming

The Lord Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27).

When the Lord appeared and did the work, the Samaritan woman in the beginning just called the Lord Sir when she saw His ordinary appearance; only after the Lord Jesus spoke out her innermost secrets during their conversation did she recognize the Lord Jesus as the promised Messiah from the Lord’s words.

Philip said to Nathanael: "We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." Nathanael didn’t believe it and said: "Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?" But when he personally met with the Lord Jesus, the Lord said to him: "Before that Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael recognized the Lord as the Son of God from the Lord’s words.

From the two examples, we can see that if merely looking at the Lord’s appearance and the place of birth, nobody back then was able to recognize the Lord; only those who listened for the Lord’s words could recognize the Lord as the Messiah.

Nowadays, disasters frequently happen, and the prophecies of the Lord’s second coming have been largely fulfilled, so now it is precisely the critical time of welcoming the Lord’s return. It is prophesied in the Book of Revelation: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). It is evident that when the Lord returns He will knock at our doors by uttering words. If we want to receive the Lord and attend the feast with Him, the key is to listen for God’s voice.

Now, many people are testifying online that the Lord Jesus has already returned and expressed words, and He is doing judgment work of the last days. Will you be like the Samaritan woman and Nathanael, humbly listening to God’s words and thereby recognizing the Lord’s appearance? If you can do this rather than blindly condemn the Lord’s return, you will be sure to recognize the Lord’s voice and welcome the Lord’s appearance.

Just as God’s word says: "Perhaps, having heard the way of truth and having read the word of life, you believe that only one in 10,000 of these words are in line with your convictions and the Bible, and then you should continue to seek in that 10,000th of these words. I still advise you to be humble, to not be over-confident, and to not exalt yourself too highly. With your heart holding such meager reverence for God, you will gain greater light. If you carefully examine and repeatedly contemplate these words, you shall understand whether or not they are the truth, and whether or not they are life."
